The Inaugural "Women Photograph + ONA Workshop" at Photoville 2017

ONA and Women Photograph are proud to announce the inaugural Women Photograph + ONA Workshop for female and non-binary photographers on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Photoville festival in Brooklyn. The all-day workshop will support Women Photograph’s mission to shift the gender makeup of the photojournalism community and ensure that the photography industry's chief storytellers are as diverse as the communities they hope to represent. See below to learn more about applying to attend.

The Women Photograph + ONA Workshop will build on the momentum of the recently-awarded Women Photograph + ONA Grants to support documentary work by emerging visual journalists, which received more than 500 applications from around the world. The workshop is presented in partnership with United Photo Industries—the producers of Photoville—with additional support from the IWMF, World Press Photo, and The Intercept. The programming will consist of skill-building talks, discussions about contemporary issues, and presentations of ongoing work. Experts will also be on hand for one-on-one sessions on book editing, grant proposal writing, portfolio reviews, and more.

To Apply: Applicants are invited to apply on womenphotograph.com by Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Selected photographers will be notified by August 22nd to register and commit to attending. There are a very limited number of spots and a few travel stipends available for photographers traveling from outside of the tri-state area. The workshop will cost $40 to attend, and lunch will be provided.
