We first discovered New York-based photographer Nico Schinco from his #whereONAgoes shots on Instagram – his photography tells the story of hidden corners of the West Village, Prospect Heights, and everywhere in between. Today, we highlight some of his work and learn more about his go-to gear, dream project and goal for 2017.

Biggest creative influence: Life in general – whether it’ s my friends, family or teachers, I find inspiration in everything around me, particularly interior design and food.
What motivates you: The opportunity to show people how beautiful life can be by simply taking the time to stop and look around.
Biggest challenge: Being confident in myself and my work.
One piece of advice that stuck with you: Few things in life are given to you. If you want something you have to go out and put in the hours to make it happen.
Time of day are you most creative: Mornings.
One thing most people wouldn’t expect about you: I used to produce dance music while I was in college.
Mistake you’ve learned from: Good design comes with intention. Every detail must have a reason behind its execution and when there isn’t one the concept begins to crumble.
Work you are most proud of: Documenting my family’s tradition of making tomato sauce once every summer.
Most recent “a-ha” moment: Being featured on Squarespace for my website.
Dream project: Open a restaurant with my brother and I will oversee all things design, photography and marketing.
Goal for 2017: Solidify a concept for a restaurant with my brother.
Cats or dogs: Dogs, duh. Also 100% allergic to cats.
