Victoria Penrose-Jones hails from the Isle of Man. Never heard of it? It’s a small island sitting between Great Britain and Ireland, known for being the birthplace of the Gibbs brothers, better known as the Bee Gees. Like the Bee Gees, Victoria has found her way to the United States, where she now serves as the Customer Care & Administrative Coordinator at our New York City-based headquarters. A photography major in college, Victoria fits right in at ONA — see her photographs and our Q&A with her in today’s Staff Profile.
Victoria carries the Leather Capri in antique cognac.
ONA: Tell us about your role at ONA.
VP: As the Customer Care and Administrative Coordinator I am the first point of contact for our online customers; I answer all inquiries, process orders, and ensure that everyone receives the best possible experience with ONA. I also assist with office admin tasks, order fulfillment, and warehouse coordination, as well as occasionally helping out outside of the office with things like photo shoots and trade shows.
ONA: What led you to apply for your job at ONA?
VP: Photography is a big passion of mine and when I came across the job opening, I instantly felt that this position was for me. I emailed in my application and heard back from Jillian, our Director of Sales and Customer Experience, the very next day. We met for coffee, then I came in for an interview, and was offered the job not long after that!
ONA: What’s your favorite bag from the collection?
VP: It’s difficult to pick a single favorite but I would have to say the Leather Capri tote in antique cognac — I use it as my everyday bag and the leather is so dreamy. My second favorite is the Chelsea in black; this is my go-to bag when I need to carry a bit extra!
ONA: What do you usually carry in your ONA?
VP: During the week I always carry my wallet and a book (and usually candy), and when necessary, it also fits my Macbook Pro 13” in a pinch as well. During the weekend, I’ll usually take my camera out with me – I carry a Nikon D90 with the 18-55mm kit lens, and a 50mm f/1.4 prime lens. The inside pockets are also super helpful for holding my iPhone, house keys & subway card.
ONA: How do you spend your time outside of work?
VP: One thing my husband and I really embraced when moving to New York from London was brunch culture, so you will usually find me starting my weekend by enjoying too much food! I also love exploring the city, taking photos (and probably Instagramming more than I should), starting new craft projects (and maybe finishing them), and enjoying quiet nights in with a movie or TV show and copious cups of Yorkshire Tea (the best). We also have big plans to make it to all 50 states while in the U.S., so we’re always planning where to visit next!
