It seems like everyone wants to be a concert photographer now, with audiences watching the show through the glow of their smartphone screens. Capturing the passion of the artists and conveying the electricity of a powerful show, however, isn’t always possible via Instagram. Daniel Silbert fell in love with concert photography while touring the country with his band, Steel Train. He wanted to document the experience of traveling the country and playing in some of its best venues with his friends, but found himself photographing the other bands during their sets and becoming obsessed with how to use the lights from the stage to capture dramatic and emotional moments. Daniel is now the photographer for the band Fun., an ideal role for him to combine his love of music and photography.
