Spring has sprung! Well…almost. The sun is shining and flowers are on the verge of blooming, but it’s still a little chilly in New York City for our taste. Luckily, there are plenty of bright and bold things happening in the photography world right now: here are our favorites.
Holi Color Bombing
Celebrated by Hindus, Holi is a spring festival of colors: celebrated by throwing colored powders and drenching each other with colored water. It’s also the brilliant inspiration for a very bright and colorful photo shoot: Design Sponge took a look behind the scenes at one at Polli. (And if you want to get in on the color bombing this Sunday in New York City, here are the details–just don’t forget your waterproof camera!).
As Dana at Yellowtrace says: “Maurizio Galimberti is a celebrated Italian master of Polaroid camera who creates visually arresting, abstract mosaic portraits of celebrities. Galimberti shoots a number of individual frames which he arranges into a larger grid that creates a distorted version of a portrait.” We haven’t seen anything like these Polaroid Portrait Mosaics before!

New York City, Then and Now
How awesome are these “then and now” photos of Union Square in New York City? The Daily Muse put together a little series, and we just love to see how the city has managed to keep so much of its charm through the years!
Union Street (On the Street)
Spotted: the Leica M3 and Union Street on David Kim in South Korea. Always a winning combination!
What’s brightening up your spring?
